This covers a vast range of areas, but principally bringing a damaged area or artefact back to its former glory, only using the specialist materials that would have been used in the first place.
Research has to be done to establish what procedures should be administered and careful preparation must be adhered to so as to make the reconstruction as authentic as possible. Also irradicating the problems that caused the initial breakdown, perhaps a damp problem or sun damage as examples. However these problems occur, there are mostly satisfactory solutions and this makes the job more satisfying.
