The art of Gilding has been used for centuries to embellish all kinds of work, from lettering to stucco work It gives a certain richness that illuminates when light is introduced.
Its a statement of wealth too, in the past, real gold leaf was expensive, so only the very rich could afford to have it. However, now there is a vast range of metal leafs which are equally effective and one can create similar opulence at a fraction of the cost. Gold leaf, when properly applied and protected, should last for years and keep its vibrancy.
